Chateau Group USA is a privately held corporation and one of Southern California's most active home construction and luxury real estate developers in the San Gabriel Valley and Orange County. The firm is vertically integrated, which means it entitles the land, designs the house, builds it and, on its multi-family and hospitality work, operates what it built.

Single family houses, and the businesses built around them
Most of what Chateau builds is a house for a family, and most of those houses sit in Arcadia, San Marino and Bradbury, towns the firm has worked in long enough to know the lots, the planning departments and the school boundaries that buyers ask about. Dovetail, a two-story English Tudor estate on 2.45 guard-gated acres in Bradbury, runs 14,017 square feet in the main house with a separate 2,498 square foot guest home. South 10th II is smaller at 7,964 square feet, with a grand foyer opening onto a hand-painted dome under a chandelier. Coronado, on a quiet street in Santa Anita Village, is 3,264 square feet and under construction now. Not every house is speculative. Some are built for an owner who already has a lot and a set of plans, and some are finished and brought to market, which is why the published portfolio carries both a Residential label and an On Market one.
The second line of the business is bigger buildings. Park View Apartments and Irolo Heights are multi-family work, Province San Gabriel Valley pairs street-level retail with apartments above it, and the completed Le Meridien hotel is the firm's hospitality project. Running that range takes a construction team with real depth on the larger building types, not just custom homes. Greg Marcon, director of construction, has thirty-five years as a general contractor and project manager specifically on multi-family and mixed-use property. John Kratky, one of three superintendents, has fifteen years on luxury townhomes, large multi-family and mixed-use projects and high-rise construction. Jonathan Tseng, project manager, carries projects from pre-development through entitlement and into construction, which is the part of the process that decides whether a project gets built at all.
Who runs it
Eric Chen is president of Chateau Group USA. He is a partner at Chateau Homes and owner of Chateau Operating Corp, and he is the one primarily responsible for the firm's Southern California homebuilding operation, from the office on La Porte Street. Ann Sung is vice president and creative director, working alongside him on the projects that carry the firm's name.
Behind them is a team of eleven named people covering operations, purchasing, accounting, project management and construction, so a project moving from a set of plans to a finished house does not depend on any one person. Meet the full team.
